My favorite Christmas Memory

Oh Christmas what a time to gather with friends and family and be with the ones you love. What better time than to reflect on a favorite christmas memory. I can think of several memories that I hold near and dear to my heart. But one in particular would be back in 2007. My father who was diagnosed with type two diabetes at the start of the year started to have complications that by August he was sent to the world famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. While, there he would go on to have numerous surgeries and problems that led to him almost losing his life (3times we almost lost him) . For the next 4 and an a half months the family all stood by his side day and night. Praying for miracles and speedy recovery. We had no idea if he would even get to come home for Christmas. It was a very tiresome and terrifying time for me and the rest of my family. Needless, to say it was right at the last minute. I mean literally the week of Christmas that we finally got the news that he was well enough to come home. The news we had prayed and hoped for! It was such a joy and a miracle from God that he survived what he what through. I now truly believe that the power of prayer works. And yes, Christmas was a very quiet and peaceful one. But I got my christmas wish and to have my daddy home for christmas was all that I needed.

Finally starting to look like Fall

Face it I don’t like summer and I sure don’t like the heat. But it’s finally October and the weather is finally starting to cool down and the temperatures are finally getting into the 60′s and 70′s. I’ve always said that my ideal temperature is 65! So maybe now I can start getting back to walking outside more instead of spending days in the gym.

Ah the unofficial end of summer is upon us. Yippie Kay Yay! Sorry, but I’ve never been much of a summer gal. I love Fall and Fall like weather. I can’t wait for the cooler temperatures and getting outdoors and seeing all the fall foliage. I love wearing the jackets and the sweaters. Cuddling up by the fireplace on those cold, cold , nights. Yep, I’m ready….Bring on Fall and everything that I so love with it.

Life Moves Pretty Fast

Tell me about it. Seems like this whole year is just flying by. Summer is almost over and fall is just around the corner. Not that there is anything wrong with summer. But, face it, I’ve always been a fall type gal. And this gal is so ready for cooler weather and breaking out the jackets, the sweater, the coats, hats, and boots, and scarfs. And if there’s snow. I say, “BRING IT ON!” Yep, I’m ready for better and brighter days ahead. Spending more time with family and friends, and celebrating the holidays.
